Abstract

The patients with COPD experiencing a fundamental inability breathing with shortness of breath, chronic cough, chronic sputum production, and limitation of activity. The main goal of physical exercise for patients with COPD is to decrease symptoms, improve quality of life and increase daily activity. The purpose of this study is to explain the effect of Exercise Training: Low Impact Aerobic With Quality of Life in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Patients. This study is a quantitative research using quasy-experiment design with pre-post test control group design. The intervention group was given Low Impact Aerobic Exercise. The results of Manova’s Test get p value = <0.001 that means as generally exercise training through Low Impact Aerobic affect the quality of life in COPD patients. The symptoms of COPD obtained p value = <0.001, it means that exercise training through Low Impact Aerobic affect in reducing the symptoms of COPD. While the fatigue obtained p = 0.099, it means that exercise training through Low Impact Aerobic does not affect in reducing the level of fatigue. Patients with COPD who regularly exercise through Low Impact Aerobic will increase the perfusion of oxygen in tissues that can threat COPD symptoms, especially shortness of breath will be reduced. Based on the results of statistical analysis can be concluded that the Exercise Training: Low Impact Aerobic affect the quality of life in COPD patients especially decrease the symptoms, but not decrease fatigue Keyword: aerobic, COPD, exercise, fatigue, low impact, quality of life, symptomp
