Abstract

Pulmonary TB was one of the major infectious diseases in the world. Indonesia was ranked second for pulmonary TB cases in the world after India. Prevention of the spread was important to provided clients with pulmonary TB has not increased and handling problems which have occurred are not less important. One technique for that was to increase the knowledge, attitude, medication adherence and quality of life for clients pulmonary tuberculosis with the peer group support. This studied using Quasy experimental with pre-post test control group design. Plan samples in this study is 20 respondents and 20 for control. Collecting data using questionnaires knowledge, attitude and quality of life were analyzed by Paired T Test, Independent T Test, Mann Whitney U test, Chi square test and Mc Nemar test. The results in this research that there is an influence of peer group support to knowledge, attitude and quality of life of clients pulmonary TB and no significant effect on medication adherence. In the knowledge in getting the value of p < 0.0001, p < 0.0001 attitude and quality of life p < 0.0001 which means α < 0.05. In adherence p value = 0.375 which means that α > 0.05 and no significant influence. Finally, the peer group support can be used as an additional intervention to improve knowledge, attitude and quality of life in pulmonary TB clients. On medication adherence can not be a significant impact and the need to do further research to improve medication adherence in clients with pulmonary TB.
